The Story

The concept of RR Micro Studios was born in early 2022. The small two-chair studio previously housed the Rustic Roots staff of 5, but as the studio grew alongside the community of Sooke, it was time to find a bigger space to accommodate the team. As of April 2022, Rustic Roots will now be located at Church and Sooke Rd, leaving the two-chair studio to become a charming and intimate Micro Studio.

RR Micro Studios now houses a collaborative of independent stylists who run their businesses within the harbour view studio. Each stylist manages their own bookings and clients. Please click the link under their bio to contact them directly.

Meet The Micro Team

Nikki Wright

Coming from a background of health care, and a seasonal sport fishing guide in Haida Gwaii; Nikki has always had a passion for working with people. In 2009 she graduated from the Academy of Excellence and dove head first into her new love of the hair industry.

Nikki Moved to the island in 2012 from Ladner BC. After moving with her family to Sooke this past summer, she decided to fully embrace the local life and join the team at Rustic Roots.

Nikki loves all things hair, but blended blondes are her niche. She is dedicated to excelling in her craft and most importantly, strives to have her clients smiling and feeling beautiful and comfortable from the minute they sit in her chair.

Bruce Coldwell

Bruce specializes in dimensional hair coloring and with his artistic vision, he enjoys working with his clients ro create styles individualized to their needs. A master of his craft, Bruce keeps up with the latest trends and techniques in this ever-changing industry.

Whether you want a contemporary classic cut or funky avant-grade style, you are sure to be pleased with the experience as well as the result.
